Every masjid online, kept right by its own community
Real names, real iqamah times, facilities and photos, confirmed by the people who pray there and by the masjid's own team.
Where First Saff is going, and what will stay the same on the way. We've written it down so you can hold us to it.
Nearly half the 268,000 masjids on our map still have only a generic name, and almost none have confirmed times yet. We want each of them to become a page its own community keeps right, full of the life that happens there.
Real names, real iqamah times, facilities and photos, confirmed by the people who pray there and by the masjid's own team.
Classes, iftars and janazah help, food banks and calls for volunteers, there for anyone who lives nearby, not only those already in the group.
Plans change. These shouldn't. Every new idea gets checked against them before it's built.
Tools come to the community first. A worshipper with a phone at the noticeboard is how a masjid's page gets right.
A masjid that claims its page has the final word on its own times and notices. We want to make that easier every year.
New features join the one free plan. Nothing that's free today will move behind a paywall.
Khutbah languages, local spellings and, over time, the app itself in the languages people pray in.
Built on open data and free services, named where they're used. Nothing shown without the owner's permission.
We'd rather grow slowly and still be here in twenty years than chase attention now.
What's live today, what we plan to work on next, and ideas we're thinking about. Tell us what matters most to your masjid.
These are plans and ideas, not promises. The order and timing will change as we learn, and some ideas may never happen.
Whatever changes, these won't. If First Saff ever needs one of them to survive, we'd rather it didn't.
Open First Saff in your browser today and add it to your home screen. The iPhone and Android apps are on their way, insha'Allah.
