What we collect

If you sign in: your email address, the name you choose, and anything you add: masjids, prayer times, photos, reviews, events and votes. These contributions are public so others can use them. Without an account you can browse everything.

Location

Your location is used on your phone to show nearby masjids, prayer times, the Qibla and weather. We do not store your location history. If you turn on "Nudge me at masjids", the phone watches for arrival at nearby masjids in the background; you can turn this off in Settings at any time.

Photos

Photos are resized before upload, which removes hidden camera data such as GPS. When you pick a photo, its location may be read on your phone only to check it matches the masjid.

Notifications

Prayer reminders are scheduled on your phone. If you sign in and allow notifications, we keep a device token to send you updates such as replies or events at masjids you follow.

Services we use

Supabase (database and sign-in), Cloudflare R2 (photos), Google sign-in and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), OpenStreetMap and OpenFreeMap (maps and masjid data), Open-Meteo (weather). We do not sell data or show ads, and there is no analytics tracking.

This website

firstsaff.com sets no cookies and has no analytics or advertising scripts. The prayer times on the home page are worked out in your browser; if you choose "Use my location", your position is used on the page and never sent to us.

Delete your data

In the app: You → Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile, sign-in and device tokens. Public contributions stay, without your name, so masjid pages remain accurate. See how account deletion works, or email hello@firstsaff.com.

Children

First Saff is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
